Soccer Game Preview: Lakewood vs. Regis Jesuit

The Lakewood Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Regis Jesuit Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakewood's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lakewood's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Chatfield 1-0. Lakewood wouldn't have won without Sergiu Farca, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Regis Jesuit). Everything went their way against Douglas County on Saturday as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering Regis Jesuit have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory keeps Regis Jesuit at an undefeated 13-0-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three matches. As for Lakewood, their record now sits at 8-5-2.
