Baseball Game Preview: Madison Central Jaguars vs. Tupelo Golden Wave

For the second straight game, Madison Central will face off against Tupelo. The Jaguars will head out to face off against the Golden Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Madison Central will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Madison Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Tupelo 6-5.

For Tupelo's part, Tanner Brannigan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Brannigan has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brody Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Wray, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Madison Central's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tupelo, they moved to 20-15 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
