It's playoff time, and Tri-Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Pottsville Crimson Tide by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (97-91) Tri-Valley actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 13-25, 27-25, 26-24.

Faith Melocheck paced Tri-Valley's offense, picking up 24 kills. Melocheck got some help from Callie Melocheck and her 46 assists. Callie was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Pottsville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Megan Yost, who had 16 digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 24 times she's played. Rhyan Brenna was another key player, getting 13 kills, 13 digs, two blocks, and two aces.

Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 24-1. As for Pottsville, their defeat ended a 16-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-6.

Coming up, Tri-Valley will venture away from home to challenge Panther Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pottsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
