Basketball Recap: New Deal Takes a Loss

New Deal lost against Clyde back in December of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Deal Lions were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Clyde Bulldogs. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Clyde to victory were Gracie Caperton and Madeline Underwood. Caperton posted 21 points, while Underwood dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. The matchup was Underwood's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brookelyn Zeigler, who put up three points and six rebounds.

New Deal's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Clyde, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

New Deal will be playing at home against Post at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Clyde, they will take on Andrews in a tournament on Saturday.
