The Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes will challenge the Williams Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Schuylkill Haven sitting on 12 straight wins and Williams Valley on six.
Schuylkill Haven is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 60-7 victory over Northern Lehigh. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hurricanes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 148th).

Colton Reber continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 395 yards and five scores on only ten carries. Those 395 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Niko Castillo was in the mix as well, providing Schuylkill Haven with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Schuylkill Haven was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 543 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 239 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Schuylkill Haven didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Blake Rossi.
Meanwhile, Williams Valley made easy work of Minersville on Saturday and carried off a 56-35 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.
Schuylkill Haven better focus on containing Fletcher Thompson and Brady Shomper as the pair were huge in Williams Valley's win. Thompson gained 286 total yards and four touchdowns, while Shomper threw for 185 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. Shomper didn't just play on offense: he also made seven total tackles and defended two passes.
Schuylkill Haven's record is now 12-0. As for Williams Valley, their record now sits at 11-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Schuylkill Haven has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 370.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Williams Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 264.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Schuylkill Haven strolled past Williams Valley in their previous matchup back in September by a score of 43-29. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Thompson, who rushed for 100 yards and one score on only 13 carries, and also picked up 48 receiving yards. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Hurricanes still be able to contain Thompson? There's only one way to find out.
