Basketball Game Preview: Rapid City Central Cobblers vs. O'Gorman Knights

Rapid City Central hasn't had much luck against O'Gorman recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Rapid City Central Cobblers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the O'Gorman Knights at 12:30 p.m.

Rapid City Central is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They had to suffer through a 52-17 loss at the hands of Brandon Valley. While losing is never fun, the Cobblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Lynx are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, O'Gorman put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Stevens with a sharp 66-45 victory. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

O'Gorman's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.6 points. As for Rapid City Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Rapid City Central came up short against O'Gorman when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 67-55. Can Rapid City Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
