Volleyball Recap: Sullivan Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ava Todd and Andi Giebler

If Sullivan was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Salem on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Waynesville Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The loss put an end to the Eagles' undefeated start to the season.

Sullivan actually scored more points across those five sets (105-104), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 18-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-8.

Despite the loss, Sullivan had strong showings from Andi Giebler, who had 15 digs and one assist, and Ava Todd, who had 22 assists and four digs. Todd has been hot, having posted 13 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sullivan fell to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Sullivan will welcome Warrenton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesville has already played their next contest (against Webb City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
