Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Normal University Pioneers

The Lincoln Railsplitters will challenge the Normal University Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lincoln is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Lanphier on Tuesday by a score of 15-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Railsplitters haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Normal University waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Crimsons 5-3.

Normal University's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
