Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Knights vs. Mariemont Warriors

The Northwest Knights and the Mariemont Warriors will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Northwest is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Badin just ended the team's six-game winning streak last Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-22 loss at the hands of the Rams. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Mariemont took a blow against Wyoming on Friday, falling 64-26. The Warriors have struggled against the Cowboys recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mariemont's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northwest, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Northwest beat Mariemont 78-70 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
