Basketball Recap: Palatka Comes Up Short

Palatka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 52-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bradford Tornadoes. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 252nd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keith Taylor, who posted 12 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Taylor a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Maliki Cobarris, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Palatka's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Bradford, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4.

Palatka won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Augustine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bradford, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Belleview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
