Basketball Game Preview: Buffalo Grove Bison vs. Elk Grove Grenadiers

The Buffalo Grove Bison will face off against the Elk Grove Grenadiers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Buffalo Grove is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Rolling Meadows just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 59-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Mustangs are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, Elk Grove played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 50-18 loss at the hands of Prospect. The Grenadiers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Buffalo Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Elk Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-17.

Buffalo Grove came up short against Elk Grove when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 41-32. Can Buffalo Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
