Softball Recap: L'Anse Purple Hornets vs. Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes
L'Anse had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-5 to make it ten. They came up short against the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 on Tuesday.
As for Lake Linden-Hubbell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games.
For Lake Linden-Hubbell's part, Emily Jokela was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Jokela has posted since back in March. Ally Corrigan was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. L'Anse will welcome Jeffers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
