League recap: Lake Wales' offense goes off in victory

5A District 10 recap September 24, 2013

Lake Wales led 5A District 10 in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Mulberry. Justin Henderson ran for 118 yards in the win.

Dylan Wright-Sirmon put up the best numbers in passing as Tenoroc lost to Auburndale. He had a total of 15 completions for 101 yards. Wright-Sirmon's favorite target this week was Justin Mills, who caught 5 passes for 43 yards.

Henderson was the most successful running back in the league this week. Earnest Hamilton also contributed to the rushing game with 35 yards on the ground.

DJ Irvis was the best receiver in the league this week as the Highlanders bested the Panthers. Irvis racked up 3 receptions for 69 yards. Davi'on Riley helped Lake Wales' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 18 yards.

Henderson was a passing and rushing force as Lake Wales beat Mulberry.

Poinciana's Jonathan Lindstrom and Joshua Lopez have formed a dream team this season, leading 5A District 10 in both passing and receiving yards. Lindstrom has thrown for 735 yards this season, while Lopez, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 12 catches for 272 yards. Rod Shafer's team's Henderson leads the league in rushing yards with 452.

The Bloodhounds had a great defensive game this week, leading the league in points allowed with 0.
