Basketball Recap: Mulberry Takes a Loss

Mulberry won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They took a blow against the Mountainburg Dragons, falling 66-22. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Dragons are ranked 75th).

Mulberry's defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mountainburg, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Mulberry will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scranton at 6:00 p.m. on January 7th. As for Mountainburg, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-44 win against Cedarville on the 28th.
