Softball Recap: Southridge Takes a Loss

Southridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats.

Camryn Nalley and Keegan LaRoche stepped up to the plate in a big way. Nalley went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while LaRoche went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Southridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Southridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-7 victory against Forest Park on the 19th. As for Evansville Mater Dei, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tecumseh at 6:30 p.m. on the 27th.
