St. Pius X is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They lost 15-5 to Eldorado. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Sartans have suffered against the Golden Eagles since March 22, 2016.

Jacob Madrid made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Joaquin Aragon was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Albuquerque Academy faced Rio Rancho in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. Albuquerque Academy took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rio Rancho.

Ryan Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Olson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Albuquerque Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for St. Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

St. Pius X beat Albuquerque Academy 7-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Does St. Pius X have another victory up their sleeve, or will Albuquerque Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
