Bernalillo has gone a perfect 10-0 against Del Norte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Knights at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bernalillo has three straight victories, Del Norte has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bernalillo is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Hope Christian with a sharp 21-3 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Calandria Montoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Bernalillo let Kylee Herrera and Bella Perez run wild. Herrera got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Perez went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those two stolen bases gave Perez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Tafoya, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Bernalillo kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.
Hope Christian hit Del Norte with a four-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights lost 13-3 to the Huskies.
Bernalillo now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.
Del Norte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bernalillo has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Del Norte, though, as they've been averaging 15.8 hits. Given Bernalillo's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
Bernalillo took their victory against Del Norte when the teams last played on April 4th by a conclusive 19-1 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
