Pinnacle is 9-0-1 against Horizon since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Pinnacle Pioneers will look to defend their home pitch against the Horizon Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Pinnacle will be strutting in after a win while Horizon will be coming in after a defeat.

Pinnacle is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Boulder Creek, who was ranked second at the time (Pinnacle was ranked 11th). Pinnacle had just enough and edged Boulder Creek out 2-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pioneers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Willow Canyon. That's two games in a row now that the Huskies have lost by just one goal.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Pinnacle, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7-1.

Everything went Pinnacle's way against Horizon in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Pinnacle made off with a 3-0 victory. Will Pinnacle repeat their success, or does Horizon have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
