Softball Recap: Valdosta Starts Season with Victory at Home

Valdosta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dougherty Trojans with a sharp 20-5 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

Cook will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Valdosta surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dougherty, they are taking a road trip to challenge Seminole County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Dougherty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
