Basketball Recap: Maryville Takes a Loss

Maryville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. The game between them and the Lafayette Fighting Irish didn't end well, with the Maryville Spoofhounds falling 65-46. While losing is never fun, the Spoofhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 67th).

Maryville's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Lafayette, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

While Maryville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Thursday.
