Basketball Recap: Brookland-Cayce Takes a Loss

Brookland-Cayce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 68-26 loss at the hands of the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles. The Bearcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.

Kadence Walker-Lee was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds for Gray Collegiate Academy. Walker-Lee has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times she's played. Raina Mayers was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Brookland-Cayce's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Brookland-Cayce has already played their next match (against Aiken), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gray Collegiate Academy is taking a road trip to take on Airport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
