Basketball Recap: Central of Clay County Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

After losing to Sylacauga the last time they met, Central of Clay County decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Central of Clay County Volunteers walked away with a 47-37 victory over the Sylacauga Aggies on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Volunteers.

Central of Clay County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Sylacauga, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-3.

Central of Clay County will challenge Shelby County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sylacauga, they are taking a road trip to square off against Briarwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Briarwood Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Sylacauga likes a good challenge.
