Baseball Game Preview: Crane Cranes vs. Stanton Buffaloes

Crane and Stanton are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Crane Cranes will welcome the Stanton Buffaloes at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Crane and eight for Stanton.

Crane lost 10-4 to Compass Academy on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Stanton fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Compass Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of Compass Academy by a score of 10-9.

Aidan Armendarez and Mason Martinez stepped up to the plate in a big way. Armendarez scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Martinez went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah DeLeon, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Crane, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Crane came out on top in a nail-biter against Stanton in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. Will Crane repeat their success, or does Stanton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
