Softball Recap: Newton Local Starts Season with Win at Home

Newton Local gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Minster Wildcats. The victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newton Local will welcome Troy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Minster, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Arcanum at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
