Baseball Recap: Oscar Smith Comes Up Short

Oscar Smith and Western Branch squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Oscar Smith had to settle for second. They came up short against the Bruins, falling 6-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Oscar Smith saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominick Zak, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Oscar Smith has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for Western Branch, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

As of now, neither Oscar Smith nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
