Baseball Recap: West Central Area Takes a Loss

West Central Area extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-8 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

West Central Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dejon Olson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 11-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

On Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta's side, Andrew Marty was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave Marty a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Kehoe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta beat West Central Area by a score of 16-0 later that day.
