Baseball Recap: Bethlehem Catholic Takes a Loss

Bethlehem Catholic was the 8-4 winner over Easton Area when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell just short of the Rovers by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday. Hawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Rovers since on Tuesday.

Joseph Casciano was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in June of 2024.

At the plate, Phil Taylor and Joey Richards did some serious damage despite the final result: Taylor went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Richards got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That home run was Taylor's first of the season. Caden Deegan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Bethlehem Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Easton Area, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bethlehem Catholic will host Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Easton Area, they will face off against Freedom at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
