Soccer Game Preview: Martin vs. Lake Highlands

The Martin Warriors will head out to square off against the Lake Highlands Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Martin will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Highlands will be coming in after a defeat.

Martin had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the four-goal drubbing they dealt Saginaw on Friday. Martin's defense stepped up to hand Saginaw a 4-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won six matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lake Highlands took on Irving last Friday. Lake Highlands fell 3-1 to Irving. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Martin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those four contests. Lake Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 13-4-5.
