Volleyball Recap: Silver Lake Regional Falls Despite Big Games from Mia Derosa and Elora Coffey

Silver Lake Regional lost against Duxbury back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lakers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons.

The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-16, 24-26, 25-16.

Silver Lake Regional's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elora Coffey, who had 17 digs and one assist, and Mia Derosa, who had 11 assists and five digs. Coffey is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Duxbury found their leader in sophomore Maria Torres, who had 14 digs and three aces. Summer Earle also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Silver Lake Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Duxbury, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Silver Lake Regional didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Norwell on the 10th. As for Duxbury, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Dartmouth on the 10th.
