Preview: Allatoona Buccaneers vs. Chamblee Bulldogs
The Allatoona Buccaneers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chamblee Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Chamblee took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Allatoona, who comes in off a win.
Even though Lassiter scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Allatoona still came out on top. Allatoona walked away with a 64-55 win over Lassiter. The win was all the more spectacular given Allatoona's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Lassiter is ranked 61st).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-36, which was the final score in Chamblee's tilt against Decatur on Tuesday. Chamblee has struggled against Decatur recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Chamblee had strong showings from Octavius Gresham, who scored 21 points, and Eli Starr, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Chamblee struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Allatoona's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. As for Chamblee, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Allatoona strolled past Chamblee in their previous meeting back in December of 2018 by a score of 76-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for Allatoona since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
