Salmon had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-10-1 to make it six. They fell just short of the Challis Vikings by a score of 10-9. Unfortunately, that's the sixth time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 13-8 defeat on Monday.

Gauge Stephenson and Reuel McCallum stepped up to the plate in a big way. Stephenson got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while McCallum went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. McCallum is becoming a predictor of Salmon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 1-8-1 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Eli Pakuer, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Challis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
