Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Wins Going Away Against Bourbon County

Nicholas County barely beat Bourbon County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Nicholas County blew past Bourbon County 13-5 on Wednesday. 13 seems to be a good number for the Bluejackets as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Corbin Fryman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Ethan Ritchie was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Bentley Crump was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

The victory made it two in a row for Nicholas County and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Bourbon County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nicholas County will host Menifee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bourbon County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lloyd Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
