The University Bulldogs will face off against the Sterling Tigers at 7:00 p.m. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Sterling likes a good challenge.
On Wednesday, University was able to grind out a solid victory over Eaton, taking the game 70-60.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They were the clear victor by a 76-55 margin over Valley on Wednesday. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Vikings are ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sterling has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points over those games. As for University, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
University was able to grind out a solid victory over Sterling in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 66-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for University since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
