The result was an unpleasant reminder to Waterloo West of the 1-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Waterloo West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19-1. As for Grundy Center, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-6-2 record.

Waterloo West has already played their next contest, a 6-1 loss against Gladbrook-Reinbeck on the 2nd. As for Grundy Center, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Columbus on the 5th.
