Softball Recap: French Settlement Wins Going Away Against St. Thomas Aquinas

French Settlement won the last time they faced St. Thomas Aquinas and things went their way on Wednesday too. The French Settlement Lions were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Jillian Cullen made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Dani Delhommer was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Jacelyn Babin, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

French Settlement's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9.

Looking ahead, French Settlement will square off against Northlake Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northlake Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something French Settlement will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, they are taking a road trip to face off against Lakeshore at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
