Softball Recap: Borden Braves vs. Henryville Hornets
Borden couldn't beat Henryville on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the seventh inning. The Braves fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 10-9. That's two games in a row now that the Braves have lost by just one run.
Lilly Torres made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Brooklyn Fein was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Borden and nudges their season record down to 7-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Henryville, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Borden and Henryville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Braves will square off against Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (86 vs. 238). Meanwhile, Henryville (ranked 123rd) will meet Paoli (ranked 320th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
