Basketball Recap: Wesley Chapel Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

Wesley Chapel had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past the Vanguard Knights with a 72-68 win on Wednesday.

It was another big night for Ethan Hicks, who went 11-for-23 on his way to 32 points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Sian Morris was another key player, putting up 18 points and three steals.

Wesley Chapel is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.6 points over those games. As for Vanguard, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Looking ahead, Wesley Chapel will challenge Leesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Leesburg will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Wesley Chapel surely won't give up without a fight. Vanguard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
