Basketball Recap: Poteau Takes a Loss

Poteau was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heavener Wolves. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in January of 2023.

Poteau's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Heavener, they moved to 3-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Heavener beat Poteau by a score of 43-37 on Monday.
