Basketball Recap: Evansville Central's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Evansville Central walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Boonville Pioneers 55-52. The win was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on four straight.

Daveon Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8-for-12 to rack up 20 points and seven boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zaryen Moore, who put up nine points and eight rebounds.

Evansville Central's victory bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Boonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Evansville Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-43 loss against Evansville Memorial on the 8th. Boonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
