Schurr is a perfect 10-0 against Montebello since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Oilers at 3:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Schurr's favor as the team sits on 11 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Montebello has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Last Thursday, Schurr earned a 4-1 win over Sierra Vista.

Schurr saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sarah Romero, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Another was Samantha Maldonado, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Montebello was able to grind out a solid victory over San Gabriel last Thursday, taking the game 8-5. The Oilers haven't had any issues with the Matadors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Schurr has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Montebello, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.

Everything went Schurr's way against Montebello in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Schurr made off with a 16-0 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Oilers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
