Basketball Recap: Los Alamos Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Aaliyah Chavez and Sofia Trujillo

Los Alamos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Moriarty Pintos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pintos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-28 back in January.

Los Alamos' loss came despite strong showings from Sofia Trujillo and Aaliyah Chavez. Trujillo posted 11 points, while Chavez had 12 points.

Los Alamos' loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Moriarty, their win bumped their record up to 9-14.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Espanola Valley the next time they take the court. Moriarty will head out to face Espanola Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Los Alamos will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
