Baseball Game Preview: Red Land Patriots vs. Gettysburg Warriors

The Red Land Patriots will take on the Gettysburg Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Red Land put up the most points they have all season on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Central Dauphin East.

Red Land let Lucas Elder and Jordon McCahan run wild. Elder scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while McCahan scored two runs while going 2-for-5. Those two runs gave McCahan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bradley Minter, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-5.

Meanwhile, on Thursday Gettysburg's undefeated season almost came to an end. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Carlisle 14-12.

Gettysburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Red Land, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Red Land came out on top in a nail-biter against Gettysburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will Red Land repeat their success, or does Gettysburg has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
