Volleyball Recap: Westlake's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Westlake lost against Sulphur back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Rams fell just short of the Golden Tors by a score of 3-2. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Westlake wouldn't go down easily and took Sulphur into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-21, 15-25, 23-25, 15-9.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westlake fell to 4-1. As for Sulphur, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Westlake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Iowa on the 18th. As for Sulphur, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Iota on the 18th.
