Football Recap: Lafayette County Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Friday, Lafayette County came back down to earth. The Cougars took a blow against the Dierks Outlaws on Friday, falling 47-15. The Cougars lost against the Outlaws in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 32-22 score last time.

Despite the loss, Lafayette County still got an impressive performance from Jordan Walters, who rushed for 190 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Walters' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 109 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Lafayette County's record now sits at 1-3. As for Dierks, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.
