Basketball Recap: Perry-Lecompton Takes a Loss

Perry-Lecompton lost against Royal Valley back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Perry-Lecompton Kaws lost 57-34 to the Royal Valley Panthers.

Royal Valley found their leader in freshman KiWe Miller, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Miller also set a new season-high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Athena Broaddus, who posted 12 points along with five boards and three steals.

Perry-Lecompton's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Royal Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perry-Lecompton will take on Osage City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Osage City will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Perry-Lecompton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Royal Valley, they will square off against Rossville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Royal Valley is facing Rossville at the right time seeing as Rossville is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
