Poquoson posted their closest win since October 15, 2024 on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Jamestown Eagles 3-2. The Islanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Poquoson took Jamestown into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 17-25, 23-25, 25-23, 17-15.

When it comes to explaining why Jamestown lost, don't look at Kira Van Deusen. Despite the final result, she had 32 digs. Van Deusen has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last three times she's played. Peyton Tilley was another key player, getting 21 assists and nine digs.

Poquoson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Jamestown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Poquoson is set to take on their familiar foe Gloucester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Islanders' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Meanwhile, Jamestown will challenge rival Lafayette at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
