Softball Game Preview: First Coast Christian Knights vs. Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors

First Coast Christian is 0-6 against Peniel Baptist Academy since February of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Knights will challenge the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. First Coast Christian has given up an average of 13.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

First Coast Christian managed to slip by Eagle's View the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights came up short against the Warriors on Friday, falling 25-12. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Peniel Baptist Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since April 16, 2024.

Alexis Peacock made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Peacock was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Allison Peacock was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Adelina Dodge was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

First Coast Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their record now sits at 14-3.

First Coast Christian might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Peniel Baptist Academy when the teams last played last Thursday. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
