Softball Game Preview: Gaston Greyhounds vs. Vernonia Loggers

For the second straight game, Gaston will face off against Vernonia. The Greyhounds will welcome the Loggers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gaston is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Vernonia 17-7 on Tuesday. The Greyhounds haven't had any issues with the Loggers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

For Vernonia's part, Cambell Zavales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple marked the first that Zavales has hit this season. Sabina Sadikhova was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two RBI.

Gaston's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Vernonia, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
