Basketball Recap: Gavin Mock's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pickens over Travelers Rest

Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 61-47 bruising from the Travelers Rest Devildogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Flame this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-39 back in January.

Pickens' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Mock, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ross Corn, who put up 15 points.

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Travelers Rest, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-16 record.

Pickens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-33 loss against Daniel on the 4th. Travelers Rest has also already played their next game, a 59-55 defeat against Greer on the 4th.
