Football Recap: Stockdale Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Stockdale fell victim to Garces Memorial and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Rams, falling 48-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 575th, while the Rams are ranked 149th).

Garces Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mark Gomez, who threw for 254 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. Colby Dilly helped Gomez out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and one touchdown.

Stockdale is on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. As for Garces Memorial, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stockdale will face off against Ridgeview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Wolf Pack's rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.71 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Garces Memorial, they will square off against Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Titans have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
